Mainz extends local lottery sponsorship
iGaming Business – German Bundesliga top-division football club FSV Mainz 05 has extended its sponsorship deal with local lottery operator Lotto Rheinland-Pfalz, according to the Wiesbadener Kurier newspaper. The new deal will run until the end of the 2016-17 season. Lotto Rheinland-Pfalz will continue as a second-level co-sponsor of the team. The deal includes naming rights to a standing area for home fans at the club’s Coface Arena, as well as various in-stadium branding and access to a VIP box. SOURCE
Sportsbet launches legal action against Beteasy
iGaming Business – Paddy Power-owned Australian online bookmaker Sportsbet has launched legal action to stop its employees from joining Beteasy, a new betting company set up by former chief executive Matthew Tripp. According to the Sydney Morning Herald newspaper, Sportsbet filed an injunction in the Victorian Supreme Court alleging that former employee Kelli Carpanini had started working for Beteasy in breach of what it said was a “non-complete restraint period”. Kambi enters Asian sports betting market with NagaWorld deal
iGaming Business – Kambi Sports Solutions, the business-to-business sports betting services subsidiary of Unibet, has announced its entrance into the Asian sports betting market after agreeing a deal with NagaWorld, a fully-owned subsidiary of Cambodian hotel, gaming and leisure operator NagaCorp. Under the agreement, Kambi will provide NagaWorld with a fully managed over-the-counter sportsbook solution. Fifa bans two English footballers for life over match-fixing
iGaming Business – Football’s global governing body Fifa has handed lifetime bans to two English footballers for their part in helping to fix matches in Australia. According to the BBC, Reiss Noel and Joe Woolley, both 24, pleaded guilty to conduct that corrupts a betting outcome in December last year. The players were initially suspended by the Football Federation of Australia national governing body after they were found to be involved in helping fix games for a global betting syndicate.
