California Sports Betting Props Fail Miserably
We knew it would happen. We told you it would happen. Still, the failure of both California sports betting props is not what we wanted to see. We were hoping we were wrong. We were hoping to publish a news story where we apologized for ever doubting them. But in the end, we were correct. Hurray for us. California sports betting props have been soundly rejected by voters in the state. Proposition 26, backed by Tribal gaming, couldn’t even pull 30% of residents voting in favor of the measure. Proposition 27, backed by big sports betting operators, did even worse…

There has been a major shakeup in the NBA 2K League, were several Esports gambling violations have resulted in the disqualification of at least six players. Nevada Esports Regulation Moves Forward
The possibility of regulated Nevada esports got a lot closer recently, as a state committee on the matter made the decision to send a proposal to regulate the activity to the Gaming Control Board and Gaming Commission. They are recommending the state amend the current regulations for race books and sports pools to include esports. The Nevada Esports Technical Advisory Committee’s recommendation would allow residents to bet on video game competitions, both online and in person, through existing sports books who take the action. The final draft of the Committee included the ability for sportsbooks to have some flexibility on…
Streak Continues for Nevada Gaming Revenue
It may seem like old news at this point, but for what it’s worth Nevada gaming revenue was over a billion dollars again in September. This reported by the state Gaming Control Board. And according to our calculations that makes the 19th month in a row that the state has hauled in a billion bucks. The “hot streak” following the closures for the Coronavirus pandemic have been nothing short of amazing. And this September also out performed last September, when gaming in the state “only” brought in $1.16 billion in revenue. It’s all perspective, really. The numbers for September came…
California Sports Betting Props Will Probably Fail
It’s come down to this: Both of the California sports betting props have their ‘big day’ next week. Voters will head to the polls, with the immediate future of sports wagers at stake. And the very real possibility that neither of the propositions will pass. Well, that sucks. In California, a ballot proposition needs just one vote above 50% to pass. But there are two propositions to regulate betting on sports in the state, and the confusion between the two may end up leaving residents waiting at least another year for sports bets. Proposition 26, backed by Tribal Gaming interests,…
