California Sports Betting Push Gets 1.4 Million Signatures
As we head toward 2021, the push for California sports betting is picking up steam… even if it has no hope of regulating the activity until at least 2022. The Coalition to Authorize Regulated Sports Wagering says they have gathered over 1,400,000 signatures from registered voters in the state who support the legalization of betting on sports. Players in the Empire State have been able to place wagers on sporting events at land based casinos, but New York online sports betting has so far remained elusive despite repeated attempts to regulate it. Another Record Month for Iowa Sports Betting
For a third month in a row, Iowa sports betting set a record for revenue. The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission data shows that over $87 million was wagered on sporting events in the state, both online and in land based sports books last month. November was the second straight month where over $80 million was bet. The handle in September was over $72 million.
