Continent 8 opens New Jersey data centre

US Gaming 2iGaming Business – Hosting provider Continent 8 Technologies has confirmed the opening of a new data centre in the US state of New Jersey.

The Atlantic City facility will enable Continent 8 to offer its full suite of hosting and managed service offerings to the regulated market.

In addition to standard co-location and managed service offerings, Continent 8 will also offer customers its DDoS Prevention and Cloud Backup services.

The new facility will become Continent 8’s tenth data centre, with the firm also having other sites in locations such as London, Gibraltar and Malta.

The opening of the new centre comes after Continent 8 last month received its transactional waiver from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement to offer services into the market.

Michael Tobin, chief executive officer of Continent 8, said: “This allows operators and providers to serve multiple locations and brands from one independent location into the newly regulated market.

“This is one of the most significant milestones in Continent 8’s ongoing global expansion.

“In addition to our growing New Jersey customer base, we can really start marketing our offering to help make Atlantic City a technology hub for the inevitable growth of the online gaming industry in the US.”
