From iGaming Business – Global lottery and gaming company GTECH has reported that its second-quarter net profit increased by 5.4% year-on-year as a result of significant contributions from its operations in the Americas.

GTECH said that its net profit in the three months through to June 30 rose to €67.3 million ($89.5 million) from €63.8 million in the corresponding period in 2012.

Operating profit increased from €153 million to €161.5 million on revenues of €762 million for the quarter – up from €153 million for the same quarter in 2012.

Last month, GTECH, previously known as Gruppo Lottomatica, revealed that it had finalised a three-year agreement to continue providing the Kentucky Lottery with technology and related services through to July 2021.

In its quarterly update, GTECH said that the rebranding of the company’s new name had been completed and “reorganisation activities are progressing as expected”.
