Formula 1 will continue racing in Nevada until 2037 after a new ten year extension was signed by Las Vegas Grand Prix, Inc. The newly minted agreement between race organizers, Clark County officials, and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority ensures the long term placement of the global motorsport event on the official racing calendar.
The event has built a massive footprint in Southern Nevada since its high profile debut in 2023. Drivers compete on a 6.2 kilometer street circuit along the famous Strip, reaching speeds that surpass 322 kilometers per hour while racing past iconic local landmarks. Over its initial three editions, the Las Vegas Grand Prix has blended top tier motorsport competition with massive entertainment lineups, drawing sellout crowds each year and attracting global media attention.
Local officials highlighted the significant economic advantages brought by the extension. Since its inception, the Las Vegas Grand Prix has generated an estimated 3.2 billion dollars in cumulative economic impact for the regional economy. In 2025 alone, the race weekend produced 43 million dollars in state and local tax revenue. This included a 15 million dollar allocation dedicated directly to regional public school education.
Beyond the direct economic impact, the Las Vegas Grand Prix Foundation has distributed more than 2 million dollars to various nonprofit organizations and community groups. Operations are centered around Grand Prix Plaza, a 39 acre multi use complex that serves as the largest Formula 1 attraction in the world. The facility acts as a year round fan hub and supports educational initiatives focused on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The venue was also recently commended at the 2026 Green Sports Alliance Summit for its environmental sustainability efforts.
Formula 1 leadership expressed immense confidence in the extended partnership, noting that the city has quickly established itself as a major pillar of the sport within the United States market. Officials from the visitor authority added that the ten year extension cements the transformation of the city into a premier destination for international sports and entertainment, anchoring a highly profitable weekend for local businesses. With the contract secured for another decade, organizers will continue to develop the infrastructure and fan experiences that define the annual racing event.
