Locaid links up with MobileStorm

Communication services provider mobileStorm and mobile location data company Locaid have joined forces to launch two new products aimed at strengthening mobile marketing techniques in the casino resort and online gaming industries.

According to the Mobile Marketing Watch website, the location-based SMS Messaging and Appmail services have been designed for “revolutionising casino mobile marketing”. The two firms claim the new offerings will offer the “most advanced” geo-location messaging services to the casino gaming industry.

Utilising the location-based technology, SMS Messaging will automatically detect a consumer’s geo-position and deliver relevant, real-time offers to them.

In addition, Appmail has been designed to augment and integrate with existing casino mobile applications – embedding an internal inbox exclusive to that specific app.

Once a player has downloaded the app, the casino can use Appmail to send rich HTML content, trigger-based campaigns and push notification – all of which can leverage mobileStorm’s location-based technology.

The new offering will enable casino marketers to bolster mobile campaigns and increase the effectiveness of messages including check-in reminders, slot tournament invites and restaurant offers. The AppMail messages are also password-protected so players do not need to worry about personal information being stored or transmitted from their devices.

Darren Withers, head of client development and casino services for mobileStorm, said: “Appmail is the next evolution in delivering offers to players. The pervasiveness of mobile apps is unstoppable. Having an inbox within a casino mobile app gives communication power back to casino properties who are currently at the mercy of the US Postal Service, internet service providers and cell phone carriers when sending offers to valuable players and guests.”
