Odds Offered on Which ‘Simpsons’ Character Will Die

simpsonsGambling 911 – One of the main characters from the long-running Fox animated series “The Simpsons” is about to be killed off and leave it to Irish bookmaker Paddy Power to offer odds on who it might be.

Executive producer Al Jean revealed the plans during a conference call, saying, “We’re actually working on a script where a character will pass away.  I’ll give a clue that the actor playing the character won an Emmy for playing that character, but I won’t say who it is.”

“The Simpsons” just entered its 25th season with most of the primary voice actors earning an Emmy award.  They include:  Nancy Cartwright (1992), Dan Castellaneta (1992, 1993, 2004, 2009), Julie Kavner (1992), Jackie Mason (1992), Yeardley Smith (1992), Marcia Wallace (1992), Hank Azaria (1998, 2001, 2003), Kelsey Grammar (2006) and Anne Hathaway (2010).

Comic Book Guy apparently got so much initial action at Paddy Power, they slashed his odds from 50/1 to 3/1.

Paddy Power has previously taken “Simpsons” bets on “Who Shot Mr. Burns”, offering 500/1 for baby Maggie, who ultimately turned out to be the shooter.

The UK’s third largest bookmaker made news last month sponsoring NBA star Dennis Rodman’s second trip to North Korea.

In 2009, “The Simpson” surpassed “Gunsmoke” as the longest-running American primetime, scripted television series.
