Deal Reached to Avoid Super Bowl Strike

The union that represents Las Vegas hospitality and culinary workers says it has canceled a strike deadline for one hotel-casino in downtown Las Vegas and reached a tentative agreement with six others. The agreements prevented a walkout on Monday morning, the first day of Super Bowl week in the city. Las Vegas Bus Drivers Strike Averted
Las Vegas bus drivers and mechanics will not initiate a strike, as members of Transit Union have reached a tentative new contract. Representing approximately 1,200 employees, the union’s spokesperson announced the deal via email on Saturday morning. The next procedure involves 1637 members voting on ratifying the contract, as outlined in the email. Las Vegas Strike Down to Three Casinos
The threat of another Las Vegas strike involving culinary and hospitality workers is over… almost. Originally, there were about 20 resorts in danger of seeing about 8,000 workers walk off their jobs. This was a separate work stoppage ultimatum from the union in the past year, with the first coming in October. The deadline for this latest Las Vegas strike was pushed back from Friday to Monday, as progress was being made in talks between the resorts and the union.
