The 25% capacity limits set as Las Vegas casino restrictions have now been extended by Governor Steve Sisolak. Originally set to expire in a few days, the new date is January 15th… but don’t count on that date either just yet. On a positive not, the Governor did not announce any additional restrictions. After a long history of opposition to expanded gambling, Disney sports betting and fantasy sports are set to become a real thing. The company recently said that their goal is to use betting on sports to strengthen the company’s ESPN+ streaming service. Disney purchased ABC Television, and ABC owns ESPN. Over the past several years, Disney had been hesitant to embrace sports betting. But they now seem to feel that regulated betting on sporting events and the emergence of fantasy sports are a great way to improve the ESPN+ service. We’ve called Sheldon Adelson a hypocrite for years, and now he’s proving it with his support of Texas online gambling. The Las Vegas Sands boss is thought to be investing in a measure to introduced legalized internet gambling in the state. According to news outlets in Austin, Texas, Adelson has given $4.5 million to Republican candidates campaigns.
