While Maryland voters likely will have to wait at least two years to decide whether to legalized sports betting  is for them, a narrow majority of the state’s voters approve of adding betting on sports today, according to a Washington Post-University of Maryland poll. The poll found 53 percent of registered voters are in favor of legal professional sports gambling, with 37 percent opposed, and 10 percent of voters having no opinion. Tennessee Sports Gaming Act Could Legalize Bets on Games

The Tennessee Sports Gaming Act was introduced on November 7th by State Rep. Rick Staples. The bill would authorize sports betting in the Volunteer State. This bill would allow adults 21 years or older who are physically located within a jurisdiction that has approved sports wagering by referendum to place sports bets in Tennessee. The Act would tax sports betting at a 10 percent rate. DraftKings Betting Shop to Open in Mississippi

The first DraftKings betting shop will open in Mississippi this week. DraftKings at Scarlet Pearl Sportsbook will debut at the D’Iberville-located casino on Friday following the receipt of a licence from the Mississippi Gaming Commission. The 300-room Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort has 1,170 slots, including 80 video poker machines, and 37 table games.
