Don’t look now, but Chinese hackers have set their sites on internet gambling. Since the summer of last year, a group of professional hackers has been targeting online gambling websites. According to reports published this week by cyber-security firms Talent-Jump and Trend Micro, hacks have been officially confirmed at gambling companies located in Southeast Asia, while unconfirmed rumors of additional hacks have also come from Europe and the Middle East. Seven Licenses Approved for Colorado Sports Betting
Some fifty casino have applied for licenses, and now seven have been approved to conduct Colorado sports betting once the activity becomes legal on May 1st. Now it’s a question of whether those seven licensees will be ready in time. Each license permits retail sports betting and one online betting skin per licensee. The continuing fight over Kentucky sports betting has split the state legislature. It seems any effort to legalize gambling other than horse racing has always exposed tensions between Republicans, and House Speaker David Osborne has said sports betting legislation is a “very divisive” issue that brings out strong emotions. Oklahoma Tribal Gaming: Judge Orders Mediation
The Oklahoma Tribal Gaming dispute with Governor Kevin Stitt continues, but now a Judge in the state has ordered the parties to mediation. Several Native American tribes are currently involved in the lawsuit about the gaming compact, and whether it automatically renews.
