Spanish media giant enters social gaming market

Flag SpainiGaming Business – Spanish media giant Marca has utilised its partnership with social sports betting technology provider Oddslife to enter into the social gaming market.

Marca has used the Oddslife platform to launch ‘Marca El Guru’, a customised social sportsbook platform that enables users to engage and compete with each other using their knowledge of sport.

As part of the arrangement, Oddslife has added a number of new devices and features to help motivate users and increase engagement. Additional features include missions, profile badges, virtual trophies and memorable sports moments.

Users can use a single sign-on to access the platform via the internet or iOS and Facebook applications.

As reported by iGaming Business, Oddslife first announced it was to link up with Marca in January 2014.

“We have been very pleased at the reception that Marca El Guru has received from our users after just six weeks and we are already planning to take our engagement to the next level with the creation of apps for iPhone and Facebook,” Marca director Carlos Gonzalez said.

Rasmus Sojmark, founder and chief executive officer of Oddslife, added: “Marca El Guru really shows off the capabilities of our platform. Working with Marca is a great coup for our team, as their brand and loyal following make them the ideal partner.

“We’re now searching for more media brands in other countries who want to get involved with the thrill of sports betting without having to invest the time and the expense involved in getting a full betting licence or developing their own social games.”
