New Revenue Record for Mississippi Sports Betting

It seems that every time we turn around another state is setting gambling revenue records, and this time it’s Mississippi sports betting that’s handling the honors. Gamblers in the state dropped over $83 on wagers in the month of October, generating more than $9 million in revenue, which was a new record high. Seminoles Sports Betting Appeal

Just days after a Federal Judge ruled the Seminoles sports betting deal with the state of Florida was “invalid”, the tribe has announced they will file an appeal. Judge Friedrich concluded that the deal violates the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act, in that it allowed mobile bets to be accepted from anywhere in the state and not just on Tribal lands. After a week of speculation, Florida sports betting has come to a halt following a decision from Federal Judge Friedrich in Washington, DC. Her ruling finds that the state compact with the Seminole Tribe is a violation of federal Indian gaming law.
