Sportradar pens Australian Rugby Union deal

Zemanta Related Posts ThumbnailiGaming Business – Sports and betting-related data company Sportradar has announced a new partnership with the Australian Rugby Union, the country’s national governing body of rugby union.

Under the agreement, Sportradar’s Fraud Detection System will monitor fixtures featuring Australian teams in the Super Rugby competition – which also involves teams from New Zealand and South Africa – as well as international Test matches held in Australia for signs of betting-related corruption and fraudulent activity.

The system tracks betting odds across hundreds of different betting operators around the world in real-time. Earlier this week, Sportradar extended a similar partnership with Football Federation Australia, and the company is also a partner of Cricket Australia.

“We are delighted to sign this agreement with Australian rugby and further strengthen our commitment to support Australian sports in countering betting-related corruption,” Sportradar chief executive officer Carsten Koerl said.

“The Australian Rugby Union’s forward-thinking approach to protecting the integrity of rugby is highly commendable and our revolutionary Fraud Detection System will greatly assist in this.”

The union’s chief executive officer, Bill Pulver, added: “Integrity is one of rugby’s core values and we want to ensure our sport operates in a way that aligns with our values. We’re looking forward to working closely with Sportradar to use their expertise in addition to our existing integrity policies.”
