Maine Sports Betting Pushed as Senate Overrides Veto
Maine sports betting looking all but dead when the Governor recently vetoed the bill that would have regulated it. However, the state senate has now voted to override that veto, and now legislation is set to move forward and become law. The Senate voted 20-10 in favor of the measure and will now be put to a vote in Maine’s House, where it is expected to pass. Governor Mills vetoed the bill last month, arguing that the people of Maine are not ready for sports betting. Though she praised the bill’s intention in bringing sports betting away from the black…

Washington DC Sports Betting Delay Cost $500,000
At least one sports betting industry insider says that the delay in Washington DC sports betting cost the district as much as $500,000 in lost tax revenue by missing out on the biggest sports betting day of the year. Kentucky Sports Betting Hits Trouble
Things were looking good for Kentucky sports betting as we reported not long ago. It had easily cleared a House committee and was looking like an easy pass in the full House, but that may be as far as it gets. State Representative Al Gentry,a co-sponsor of the bill, says there are enough votes to pass the bill in the House, but “the senate is a different story” he says. Citing his organization’s informal polling, Family Foundation spokesman Martin Cothran issued a press release Wednesday declaring the bill to be “in trouble.” It is, at the least, in escalating doubt….
