The big game last Sunday was interrupted by a semi-nude man running onto the field. The Super Bowl streaker, later identified as Yuri Andrade, was arrested and later bonded out for $1,000. But that was only the beginning of the story.

It turns out that Mr. Andrade had actually placed a Proposition bet (or a “prop bet”) on the Super Bowl for $1,000. He bet that a streaker would make it on to the field, and then he guaranteed his win by streaking himself.

It cost Andrade and a friend $25,000 each for tickets to the game, but the win from the bet more than covered the expense by paying out $374,000. Not a small chuck of change, eh? But the night wasn’t over.

Following his streak across NFL history, Andrade and a friend hit a Tampa Bay strip club to celebrate, jumping up on stage and throwing money around. But that isn’t the end of the story, either.

The prop bet was placed at the Bovada online sports book. And when they heard that the Andrade the Super Bowl streaker was the same Andrade who placed the bet, they did not seem too happy about it.

A spokesperson for Bovada now says that they are aware of the irregularities with this bet, and are completing an investigation “…to identify all accounts associated with the irregularity” associated with the incident. Well, that doesn’t sound too promising.

“Our players have always trusted us to ensure the integrity of all props offered in our sports book,” Bovada said in a  statement. “We will continue to make sure that any publicity stunts or ill-intended behavior cannot adversely affect the outcome of a player’s wager.”
