UK Footballer Suspended for Match Betting
Tottenham winger Andros Townsend has received a four-month ban by the Football Association (FA) for match betting on football games. Townsend is not accused of wagering on matches he was a part of, but nevertheless found himself in hot water and fined £18K for breaching the FA’s player betting regulations. Three months of the ban have been suspended until July 1st, 2016 and will be enforced if the footballer gets into any more trouble during that time-frame.
