Las Vegas Casino News from The Strip to Fremont Street!

It’s another week of gambling news! This time, we have several stories about Las Vegas casino news to share from the Palms to Texas Station! Plus, a delayed Vegas casino reopening and a story from the new “adults only” casino opening on Fremont Street later this year!

Hello friends and welcome to This Week in Gambling, where we have Las Vegas casinos news about resorts that are about to reopen… Las Vegas casinos that have not reopened yet… and Las Vegas casinos that may never reopen again but first…

This week’s big story finds another Nevada casino in violation of the health and safety mandates put in place by the Governor to slow the spread of Coronavirus. Only this time it’s a Las Vegas strip casino that’s in the crosshairs of the Nevada Gaming Control Board. And this time there will be fines.

The Sahara Casino allegedly violated mandates about the number of people allowed at their craps and blackjack tables on the casino floor. Additionally, they hosted a luncheon for over 130 people despite the mandate setting a maximum of only 50 people… so, too many!

Now the Gaming Control Board ain’t screwing around no more. They’ve already made it clear that the Sahara will face fines. How much? That remains to be seen, but it could be up to $100,000.

And while folks of the Sahara are wondering how much they’re going to have to fork over, folks at the Tropicana are wondering if they’re ever really going to reopen. Originally they had set a September 1st date, but now that looks to be in jeopardy. Owners Penn National Gaming say that market conditions will dictate when they reopen the Tropicana.

So while employees there wait for “when”, other Vegas employees are waiting to see “if” their casinos will even reopen at all. More on that and Las Vegas casino news right after the break

Just a quick heads up on a story that broke over the weekend, as a member of the popular Two Plus Two poker forums has uncovered what appears to be yet another major bot network affecting many major poker rooms. Right now it’s just a lot of data and discussion, but if it does turn out to be a major news story we will certainly be covering it on our website and most likely in an upcoming video.

Also, many Las Vegas casinos that were shutdown due to the Coronavirus pandemic have now reopened. Others are waiting for market conditions to improve so that they can welcome guests back. But there are a few a few Las Vegas casinos that may never open again. Red Rock Resorts says that four of their casinos in Las Vegas may never reopen, including the off Strip Palms and Texas Station. And while those US casinos wait to see if they’ll survive or not, a brand new adults-only casino is set to open this October down on Fremont Street.

We’ve talked about Circa Las Vegas quite a few times on this program, and now they’re making headlines again with their “No Contact” technology designed to help prevent the spread of Covid-19. Although to be honest, I’m not sure how i feel about an adult’s only resort with no touching… because, believe me, when I imagine an adults-only resort there’s a lot of touching going on!
