Less Than 30% of Voters Favor Colorado Sports Betting

Gambling on sporting events will be paraded out to voters this fall, but a new BettingUSA.com survey has found that only 29% are in favor of Colorado sports betting. The survey was conducted via Google between June 2nd and 5th of this year and collected 5,000 responses from people age 18 and older who were located in the state.

The survey was able to identify that only 29% of voting-age Coloradans would approve the legalization of sports betting if the referendum were held today, while 31.5% would oppose the measure Almost 40% of respondents are undecided.

“These results are not particularly surprising given Governor Polis only recently signed the legislation calling for a referendum in November,” said BettingUSA.com Editor in Chief Wes Burns. “Many potential voters are still unaware the issue will be appearing on the November ballot. We anticipate groups on both sides of the issue will be gearing up their campaigns to sway voters one way or another over the next few months.”

“Voter education will be critical over the next few months,” said BettingUSA.com CEO Mike Murphy.
