Memorial Day traditionally kicks off the Las Vegas summer and vacation season, and if your plans include Las Vegas, we have you covered! Find all the major concerts, new resorts opening, amazing attractions, and fireworks displays from June to September! Summer doesn’t just begin, it explodes with fireworks shows from June through September! And that’s where we kick off our show!
As America celebrates 250 years, Sin City will be celebrating with eight consecutive weeks of fireworks held all up and down the strip. The Fremont Street Experience will get into the action as well before the displays ship back to Las Vegas Boulevard. If you’re in town for the July 4th, get ready for the Strip spectacular with fireworks from MGM Grand all the way to the Strat. And celebrations wrap up near the end of July with pyrotechnics on the central and north end of the strip. But wait, there’s more: The Plaza will hold weekly fireworks displays every Friday all summer long, June 5th through the Labor Day weekend.
And speaking of downtown Las Vegas, the Fremont Street Summer Concert Series is back as well, running all the way to October, and all the shows are free. Find these bands performing live with country, rock, and alternative music. And with the current cost of a Vegas trip, the price is hard to beat. And while Fremont Street is bringing you free concerts, several other big-name artists are headed to town for the Las Vegas summer months. That includes Ed Sheeran, along with rock legends AC/DC and Guns N’ Roses, all performing at Allegiant Stadium.
No Doubt is playing their residency at the Sphere right now, and they will be followed by country superstar Kenny Chesney. July 4th brings Illenium back for the holiday weekend, and the Backstreet Boys return as well to extend their residency. And the band that just can’t stay away, the Eagles, return to close out summer in September. Check out our Hot Las Vegas Summer Concerts video for a complete listing of other artists.
While all of this is going on, renovation work on the new Vanderpump Resort has wrapped up. And what better way to kick off the Las Vegas summer than with a new Strip resort. The 188 guest rooms have been redesigned. The 40,000 square foot casino floor now has over 60 table games and hundreds of slots. There’s a Caesars Sportsbook, and their Soleia rooftop pool on the 11th floor offers cabanas, lounge seats, cocktails, and amazing views. And just in time for pool season, BetMGM and Mandalay Bay have teamed up to make the Tailgate Beach Club even better.
Finally this week, we’ve covered fireworks, concerts, and new resort openings, but we’re still not done, as several big events are taking place this summer across Sin City. First, it’s Slotapalooza, the $15,000 slot tournament on July 18th at Circa Resort. There will be free play promotions, giveaways, hot seat drawings, even an open bar. Also, while there’s no opening date yet, a new high-limit gaming lounge is set to debut at the Plaza at some point this summer. So, stay tuned.
Then, close out the Las Vegas summer season with what some are calling the fight of the century as Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao square off at MGM Grand September 25th. And even though the big Formula 1 race is not until the fall, tickets are on sale right now through the F1 website and through MGM Resorts. So, if you’re interested in one or more of these events, you might want to get on those tickets sooner rather than later.
