2021 WSOP to be Played In-Person at the Rio

In another sign that things are returning to normal, the 2021 WSOP has announced that this years events will take place at the Rio Casino in Las Vegas, and that it will be business as usual with players at the tables.

The Main Event is slated to start November 4th of this year and should wrap up by the 17th. A complete schedule, along with details and specifics about how play will be conducted, will be released sometime this summer.

WSOP representatives said that the events will operate in compliance with all directives from the state of Nevada and the Gaming Control Board. Specific COVID-19 safety protocols and other related 2021 tournament policies will be reviewed with gaming regulators in the lead-up to the event.

The Rio is a hotel and casino near the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada, United States. It is owned by Dreamscape Companies LLC and operated by Caesars Entertainment. It includes a  casino and 2,520 suites. It also features a Brazilian theme based on Rio Carnival.

The hotel includes the three-wing Ipanema Tower, which stands at 20 stories. A 1997 renovation added Masquerade Village, a two-story retail and restaurant complex which also featured the Masquerade Show in the Sky.
