2023 WSOP Breaks All-Time Record

The 2023 WSOP is being played at the Horseshoe Las Vegas and Paris Casino. The tourney has made history this summer, as their Main Event has broken their all-time record for the most entries! When the final registration was closed, WSOP officials say there were 10,043 entries, making this the biggest and richest tournament in the history of live poker!

“This is an all-time summer for the WSOP,” said Ty Stewart, their Senior Vice President. “Week after week we saw record fields, so it’s only fitting that we break the biggest record of all. 10,000 players is historic for the industry and this year’s champion will be remembered as the one to conquer the richest event in poker history, well at least until 2024.”

In 2006, the WSOP only paid out 10 percent of its then-record-breaking Main Event field. The 2023 WSOP prize money will be awarded to 15 percent of total entrants. This years Main Event winner will also take home the gold bracelet, which was unveiled by Chef and Restaurateur Guy Fieri back on on July 7th. It’s a 10-karat yellow gold bracelet with over 2,300 precious gemstones, including 42 carats of diamonds and a removable golden poker chip!

With the entrants that stood for 17 years now broken, the 2023 WSOP sets its sights on a Final Table to be remembered and a huge first-place prize to be awarded to the eventual undisputed world champion of poker. The Final Table of nine players this year will enjoy historic payouts, including $12.1 million for first place, $6.5 million for runner-up, and an impressive $900,000 for the first player sent home.
