New Las Vegas Station Casino is Coming

There are confirmed plans for a new Las Vegas Station Casino. Currently, the company has six properties in and around Sin City. They recently received approval from the Clark County Commission for a new casino southwest of the Strip. Approval means construction could start early next year for the 200-room tower dubbed “Durango, a Station Casinos Resort” near the 215 Beltway, company officials said.

Bob Finch, chief operating officer for Station parent company Red Rock Resorts, termed the project a next-generation attraction for local residents. He said it could open late next year. A cost estimate is expected in coming weeks.

The Las Vegas Station Casino plans call for a 216-foot-tall hotel, casino, pool with an event lawn, four restaurants and bars, a race and sports betting area, meeting and convention space, a parking structure and electric vehicle charging stations. A second phase would add a second tower, more hotel rooms, a theater-entertainment space and bigger casino. Station Casinos has owned the undeveloped 71-acre (29-hectare) property since 2000.

The company has nine large casinos and 10 bar, restaurant and sports betting properties. Its Fiesta Henderson, Texas Station in Las Vegas and Fiesta Rancho in North Las Vegas closed during the coronavirus pandemic and have not reopened.
