Tribal Gaming on the Las Vegas Strip!

Tribal gaming on the Las Vegas Strip will officially arrive soon, but that’s not the only big news out of Sin City this week! Caesars has sold their Rio Casino, and more properties could be on the market soon. Plus, as MGM talks selling Bellagio and MGM Grand, another of their Strip casinos is now the topic of a purchase.

Hello friends, and welcome to This Week in Gambling, where today we answer one of the greatest mysteries of our time! I’m the one… I’m the guy… I let the dogs out! So, now you know!

This week’s big story finds the long overdue arrival of Tribal gaming on the Las Vegas Strip! The Hard Rock Casino will soon become Virgin Hotels, and when it does something very special is going to take place. Mohegan Gaming, who runs the Mohegan Sun and other properties, will operate this casino… meaning that Tribal gaming interests will officially be on the Las Vegas Strip! Finally!

Also, on our August 12th show, I told you all that Eldorado Resorts had bought out Caesars Entertainment. As a result, antitrust laws would probably require that they sell off some of Caesars assets. Now Caesars has announced the sale of their Rio Casino, home to the World Series of Poker, for just north of 500 million dollars! But don’t worry poker players, they didn’t sell the WSOP with it!

Imperial Companies bought the Rio, but they will rent it back to Caesars for the next two to three years while the transition takes place. No word yet on where the WSOP will take place next year or in the years following the completion of this transition. Of course the Hard Rock and the Rio weren’t the only two casinos making headlines in Vegas this week as it looks like MGM may be moving one of their properties as well…

The Global Gaming Expo is coming up in Las Vegas in just a few weeks and will feature some of the best online casino games. I will be attending and filming lots of great stuff for you guys, and in that spirit I’m going to do something now on this show that we haven’t done in a long time… and that is tell you about a new game review that we’ve just released: It’s a good one, for the American Gods 4D Slot Machine from our friends at IGT.

There are three bonus games for players to choose from, plus a wide-area progressive jackpot which resets at $100,000. Best of all is the combination of IGT’s motion gesture and True 4D technology. We’ll have more reviews to share in the weeks leading up to the event, and you can watch this review by following the direct link in the descriptive area below this video.

Also on our show from August 12, I had mentioned that MGM Resorts International had been considering selling off some of their Las Vegas Strip casino properties… in particular Bellagio and the MGM Grand. So finally this week, I’m here to tell you that MGM is currently in talks about selling off their Circus Circus casino… that place is still in business?

The potential buyer is none other than the owner of the Treasure Island casino. It’s just a few doors down, and he says that bulldozing Circus Circus would give him the perfect place to park his Bentley… Or… Or… he could renovate it and flip it.
